Celebrating the Expertise that Keeps Saskatchewan Trade Moving
The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed September 14 to 18, 2026, as Supply Chain Week in the province. The week recognizes professionals who help keep Saskatchewan competitive, connecting our industries, products and communities to opportunities around the world.
“As a province that exports 70 per cent of what we produce, strong supply chains are the backbone of our success,” Trade and Export Development Minister Warren Kaeding said. “They are key to connecting Saskatchewan goods with domestic and international markets, attracting investment and strengthening the competitiveness of our industries. Supply Chain Week is an opportunity to recognize the individuals whose work helps drive growth, support trade and keep Saskatchewan’s economy moving.”
From sourcing raw materials and managing logistics to delivering products and services, supply chain professionals help businesses operate efficiently while putting Saskatchewan on the map. A resilient supply chain protects businesses, helping them adapt to changing market conditions.
“Every product on a shelf, every shipment delivered and every service provided depends on an efficient and responsive supply chain,” Supply Chain Canada, Saskatchewan Institute, Executive Director and CEO DonnaLyn Thorsteinson said. “During Supply Chain Week in Saskatchewan, we recognize the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes to ensure goods and services reach the people who depend on them. Their commitment to excellence is essential to the success of our industries and the continued strength of Saskatchewan’s economy.”
Saskatchewan’s sustained focus on building a reliable and resilient supply chain supports citizens and communities. Statistics Canada’s latest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) numbers indicate that Saskatchewan’s 2025 real GDP reached an all-time high of $85.4 billion. This was an increase of 2.2 per cent, putting the province well above the national average of 1.7 per cent.
