Indigenous Businesses
The Government of Saskatchewan supports the growth of First Nation and Métis communities and their businesses by facilitating development and fostering new partnerships. We help connect communities and organizations with new investment opportunities. The province has numerous Indigenous economic development organizations and Indigenous-owned businesses across all sectors, eager for partnership and investment opportunities.

Saskatchewan Indigenous Investment Finance Corporation (SIIFC)
In support of economic reconciliation, the SIIFC was established in 2022. The SIIFC provides up to $75 million in loan guarantees to bolster Indigenous equity ownership in major projects in mining, energy, oil and gas, forestry, and value-added agriculture.

Indigenous Communities, Peoples, and Shared Traditional Territories in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan is home to diverse Indigenous communities, including First Nations and Métis, who share and steward their traditional territories. Many of these lands are connected through cultural, historical, and familial ties, reflecting these communities’ rich and shared histories. The province is governed by Numbered Treaties 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10, (and a significant adhesion, Treaty 6A) and includes:
