The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to be participating in the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, one of the province’s premier resource development events that highlights the strength, innovation and opportunity within southeast Saskatchewan’s oil-producing region.

The show, held biennially in Weyburn, runs June 3 to June 4. It brings together industry leaders, service providers and innovators to demonstrate the latest advancements in the sector and reinforce the province’s position as a leader in responsible energy development.

“Our government is proud to support the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, which plays a vital role in promoting one of our province’s most important industries,” Energy and Resources Minister Chris Beaudry said. “This event is a great place for Junior Oil and Gas companies to promote themselves and grow. Saskatchewan is one of the last places in North America that Junior Oil and Gas companies can establish themselves.”

The oil and gas sector continues to be a pillar of the Saskatchewan economy. More than 26,000 people are employed in the sector, and last year, the value of oil and gas production reached $11.5 billion.

Southeast Saskatchewan remains a cornerstone of provincial oil production, supporting thousands of jobs and contributing significantly to provincial revenues through royalties and taxes that help fund critical services such as health care and education.

The Government of Saskatchewan continues to work closely with industry partners to increase oil production and ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the oil and gas sector. By supporting events like the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, the province reaffirms its commitment to economic growth, innovation and responsible resource development.
